The Windows validation pop-up is a feature of the Windows Genuine Advantage program. The program was created by Microsoft to validate copies of the Windows operating system. Although the purpose of the validation pop-ups is to protect the user from counterfeit copies of Windows, the pop-ups can be intrusive and annoying.
