Updated February 10, 2017 Power on your Bluetooth device and place it near your iPod. Press the “Settings” button on the home screen of your iPod to launch the settings menu. Select “General” from the options that appear, followed by “Bluetooth.” Slide the switch at the top of the Bluetooth menu to the “On” position if it currently says “Off.” Your iPod will now search for all of the Bluetooth devices currently powered on near it, and list them on the screen. Select your headphones or speakers from the list of items that appears on the screen, and when prompted enter the pairing code for your headphones into your iPod. The pairing code is a small series of numbers that can be found either on your Bluetooth device or its instruction book. Click the “Save” button at the top of the screen when you are done entering the pairing code in order to complete the pairing process and start using your Bluetooth device with your iPod.
